Features Data Evaluation Conventional smoke detectors will drift toward being too sensitive due to the accumulation of dust dirt With TrueAlarm analog detection data from the photoelectric is monitored and analyzed at the detector to provide a shifting reference point Compensation The data evaluation and its shifting reference provide a software filtering process that compensates for factors dust dirt etc and component aging establishing accurate reference for evaluating new activity With this filtering resulting drift compensation provides a significant reduction in the of false or nuisance alarms caused by shifts in sensitivity up or down Test Information Status information is available by the magnetic test and observing the detector LED pulses LED will normally go directly into alarm with the magnetic test there is an off normal condition the LED pulses first to indicate condition and then goes into alarm See Detector Status LED Reference Locations Locations should be determined only after careful of the physical layout and contents of the area to be Refer to NFPA 72 the National Fire Alarm Code On smooth smoke detector spacing of 30 ft 9.1 m may be used as a guide detailed installation information refer to A4098 Detectors Sensors Bases Application Manual 574 709AC Selection The A4098 9601 standard sensitivity detector recommended for most applications When a special application for reduced sensitivity detector is required the A4098 9605 should be Consult your local Autocall product supplier for assistance in the proper selection 1 TrueAlarm Detector Mounted in Base smoke detector with on board TrueAlarm drift compensation chamber enclosure Louvered design enhances smoke capture by directing flow to Entrance areas are minimally visible when ceiling mounted Operation is for ceiling or wall mounting indicator LED indicates normal and alarm operated functional test Initiates alarm and verifies performance Identifies general sensitivity status using detector LED available in two sensitivity settings A4098 9601 Standard Sensitivity nominal 2.8 ft obscuration A4098 9605 Special Application Sensitivity nominal 3.5 ft options Bases for 2 wire or 4 wire operation Auxiliary alarm relay output Remote alarm indicating LED for EMI compatibility listed to Standard 268 TrueAlarm photoelectric detectors provide many of the proven analog sensing features for applications where detectors connected to conventional 2 wire or 4 wire initiating device circuits Each TrueAlarm detector has an on board microprocessor that its photoelectric light scattering chamber activity and makes intelligent decision based on light obscuration history as to whether alarm condition is present detectors are packaged in a patented housing that minimizes visibility of the air intake louvers from the normal viewing locations maintaining a high performance smoke capture ability Bases are for remote alarm LED indicator connections and auxiliary relay
