EDWARDS Instructions for Catalog Series AdaptaBeacon cid 226 Signals in accordance with the latest edition of the National Elec Code and local regulations Unfasten and remove the clamp ring Lift off the dome Remove the three screws in the rotating lamp assembly plate lift the assembly off the base and pull the leads out of the conduit entrance hole in the base For indoor non hazardous installation the signal may be surface mounted or mounted on 3 4 19mm NPT For outdoor weatherproof and hazardous location the signal must be conduit mounted Install the base using one of the following applicable mounting Surface Mounting indoor non hazardous installation only For direct surface mounting the signal must be with its dome facing either directly up or the three mounting screw knock outs from the bottom the signal base the field wiring from the 120V AC power source the conduit entrance hole in the base the base to the surface by installing three 10 wood not supplied or other suitable hardware through the holes in the base Proceed to step 4 for wiring Mounting hazardous location indoor or installation prevent leakage and a potential shock hazard mounting outdoors the signal must be with the lens or dome facing directly up the field wiring from the 120V AC power source the conduit entrance hole in the base the base on the conduit not supplied Using wire nuts not supplied connect the field wiring to signal wire leads Connect one field wire to a wire lead each the motor assembly and the strobe tube Connect other field wire to the other wire lead from each the motor and the strobe tube the ground wire to the ground screw in the base of unit Place the connected wires inside the base of the signal and the signal on the base using the three screws in step 2 1 Catalog Series 58 N5 100WH Signal Adaptabeacon Catalog Series 58 N5 100WH signal is a UL general purpose visual signaling appliance The signal supplied in a UL Listed NEMA 4X enclosure This signal is for installation in the hazardous locations outlined be Temp Code and 2 450 842 85 185 85 185 58 N5 100WH contains a 100 watt halogen rotating bea which is motor driven at 75 rpm The signal operates on AC 50 60 Hz at 1.0 amp 58 N5 100WH signal is suitable for indoor or outdoor installation and utilizes a standard base that al for direct surface mounting or mounting on 3 4 19mm conduit For outdoor installation the signal must be con mounted reduce the risk of ignition of hazardous atmo or risk of electrical shock keep assembly closed when circuits are energized Discon power before disassembling enclosure or or replacing lamp prevent leakage and a potential shock hazard care when disassembling the signal to prevent the gasket CT 203 699 3000 FAX 860 677 7746 ISSUE 5 1998 Ensure that the dome gasket is properly installed and replace signal dome and secure with the clamp ring removed in 1 Turn on power and verify that the signal operates properly Replacement reduce the risk of ignition of hazardous atmo or risk of electrical shock keep assembly closed when circuits are energized Discon power before disassembling enclosure or or replacing lamp prevent leakage and a potential shock hazard care when disassembling the signal to prevent the gasket prevent electrical shock do not remove or insert when unit is energized Unfasten and remove the clamp ring Lift off the dome Remove the lamp by pushing it up slightly and turning Refer to the Replacement Parts section and replace the lamp the cover supplied with the lamp Ensure that the dome gasket is properly installed and replace signal dome and secure with the clamp ring removed in 1 Unfasten and remove the clamp ring Lift off the dome Clean the dome with a soft cloth or sponge using water and a detergent Ensure that the dome is completely dry and the gasket installed Replace the signal dome and secure with clamp ring removed in step 1 the lamp fail to operate check that power is on If power on replace the lamp as directed in the Lamp Replacement sec signal dome should be periodically cleaned to maintain light visibility Clean the dome with a soft cloth or using water and a mild detergent lamps and domes may be obtained from your Edwards distributor The catalog numbers are listed below Parts Component 100 Watt Halogen double bayonet base Amber Blue Clear Green or Red Component or Part Number 100Q CL DC 120V or 94DV2 D color of dome by adding the letter A Amber B Blue C Clear G Green M Magenta or R Red to this order number ISSUE 5
