sys information If the modules will be installed in an existing operational inform the operator and local authority that the system will be tempo out of service Disconnect the power to the control panel before install the modules This system contains static sensitive components Always yourself with a proper wrist strap before handling any circuits so that charges are removed from the body The module housing should also grounded This manual should be left with the owner user of the equipment DESCRIPTION MMF 302 6 Six Zone Interface Module is intended for use in an intelli alarm system Each module provides an interface between the intelligent system and a conventional alarm system loop A common SLC input is for all modules and the initiating device loops share a common super supply and ground Otherwise each monitor operates independently the others Each module has its own unique address pair of rotary code switches is used to set the address of the first module 01 to 154 The remaining modules are automatically assigned to the next higher addresses Provisions are included for disabling a maximum of two modules to release the addresses to be used elsewhere Each mod also has panel controlled bicolor LED indicators The panel can cause the to blink latch on or latch off TwO wIRE SySTEM SENSOR SMOkE DETECTORS FOR uSE wITh MMF 302 6 wITh ZONE A IDENTIFIER MODEL DET B401B B401 four holes provided in back surface of the cabinet Figure 3 The CH 6 chassis is mounted in the BB 6 cabinet It is attached to the PEM studs on the back wall of the cabinet with two 8 32 hex nuts hex nuts are included with the chassis Figure 4 3 TyPICAL MOuNTING hOLE LOCATIONS 3.9k Ohm of Line Resistors on Board Shunts in Class A B position Shipped in Class B position remove shunts for Class A REQuIREMENTS ensure proper operation this module shall be connected to a compatible system control panel list available from Fire Contact System for a current list of compatible detectors are descriptions of the MMF 302 6 mounting frameworks There two mounting options for MMF 302 6 modules Up to six MMF 302 6 modules can be installed on a CH 6 in a BB 6 One or two MMF 302 6 modules can be installed in a BB 2 cabinet CH 6 chassis is used to mount MMF 302 6 modules in a BB 6 cabinet It up to six MMF 302 6 modules in a single cabinet row three wide and two modules deep 1 Ch 6 ChASSIS BB 2 cabinet has a built in chassis that will accommodate one or two modules 2 BB 2 CABINET front MMF 302 6 module positions of each chassis are offset below the rear module positions so that all of the status indicators are visible BB 6 will house the CH 6 chassis with up to six MMF 302 6 modules in on it Refer to cabinet installation documents for dimensions BB 2 cabinet houses one or two MMF 302 6 modules on the internal chas that is part of the cabinet Refer to cabinet installation documents for 4 MOuNTING ThE Ch 6 ChASSIS with hex nuts to PEM studs back of cabinet BB 2 cabinet comes with the chassis already installed so no mounting necessary Module Installation There are two methods for installing a module in the rear position of a Method one is for installation of a rear module only when no will be installed in front of it Refer to Figure 5 for instructions two is for installation of a rear module when another module be installed in the chassis position in front of it Refer to Figures 6a 6b for method two All necessary screws and standoffs are supplied the modules 5 INSTALLATION OF REAR MODuLE ONLy METhOD ONE 1 2 Insert the bottom of the MMF 302 6 module down into a slot on the chassis Carefully swing the upper edge of the board back towards the back the chassis until it touches the two standoffs 3 Align two 4 40 screws with the two standoffs and tighten 4 Address and wire the modules according to the instructions in this Class B operation the remaining modules are automatically assigned to the five higher addresses For example if the base address switch is set to 28 next five modules will be addressed to 29 30 31 32 and 33 module is shipped in Class B position remove shunts for Class A When in Class A alternate modules are paired together 0 1 2 3 resulting in a total of three modules For example if the base ad switch is set to 28 then 30 and 32 will be automatically assigned to the while 29 31 and 33 are available to be used for other modules on the For Class A and B operation DO NOT set the lowest address above 154 the other modules will be assigned to nonexistent addresses Some panels support extended addressing In to set the module above address 99 on compat systems carefully remove the stop on the upper switch see Figure 7 If the panel does not extended addressing do not set the lowest above 94 Figure 7 865 A shunt is provided to disable a maximum of unused modules in Class B operation and A operation Modules are disabled from the highest address and downward If two modules are disabled the lowest four addresses be functional while the highest two will be disabled For example Class B operation if the shunt for Address Disable is placed on the base switch is set to 28 the modules will be assigned to 28 29 and 31 while disabling the highest two positions Place unused shunts on single pin to store on board for future use Power must not be applied to the unit when changing functionality of shunts NOTES Power limited circuits must employ type FPL FPLR or FPLP cable as by Article 760 of the NEC All wiring must be in accordance with the NEC NFPA
