Cautions and Warnings Fire Alarm Connect Card and DACT Module Installation Instructions NOT INSTALL ANY SIMPLEX PRODUCT THAT APPEARS Upon unpacking your Simplex product inspect the contents of carton for shipping damage If damage is apparent immediately file a claim the carrier and notify Simplex HAZARD Disconnect electrical power when making any adjustments or repairs Servicing should be uninstalled components wrapped in anti static material at all times FREQUENCY ENERGY This equipment generates uses and can radio frequency energy and if not installed and used in accordance with are not present 566 078 on next page Connect Card Installation Continued Settings city connect card has jumper settings that select either the Remote Station Polarity Interface see Table 1 which is the default jumper setting the factory or the Municipal Master Local Energy Interface Jumper to configure the city connect card for the Remote Station Interface or Municipal Master Interface are listed below The city connect card has that illustrates the jumpers and selectable configurations Reverse Polarity Local Energy 1 Jumper Settings Master Energy Station Polarity to P2 2 to P3 8 to P3 installation procedures are for the Silent Knight 5128 only Tape Mounting Method Steps 1 through 11 and refer to Figure 2 to mount a DACT module using Tape Disconnect power for the 4004 Panel at the breaker installing the DACT module all wiring information use the Field Wiring Diagram 841 992 DACT mount to the 4004 Back Box in a physical location where the DACT LEDs can be viewed from a cutout slot opening on the mounting plate Contractor Wiring Termination Label 519 698 located on the inside of the door panel does not directly indicate where the DACT module should be Instead the label illustrates the optional City Connect Card in the area the cutout slot is located to view the DACT status LEDs The door label provides the programming information to configure the DACT into the System are two installation methods to mount the DACT module to the 4004 Box using either VHB tape or screw mounting Use the appropriate method for your installation If possible install the DACT before field wiring on the 4004 system cards When installing the DACT module be careful not to non power limited and power limited wiring removing or installing the mounting plate to from back box Lay the mounting plate on a non conductive free table when installing DACT module Remove the module from its packing material Locate the DACT module onto the back box back wall so the green ON LED yellow TROUBLE LED and red LINE 1 and PHONE LINE 2 LEDs are over the cutout slot on the mounting plate Using a pencil trace the DACT module locations onto the back box back wall Remove the two bottom 6 Torx screws and loosen the two top 6 Torx that secure the 4004 Control Panel Mounting Plate to the back box Carefully remove the mounting plate from the back box by lifting it upward the plate left past the locking tab and forward to release the plate from back box Attach two 8 inch long strips approximate of double sided VHB tape to the back of the DACT module lengthwise Remove the protective paper and position the DACT module where the tracing marks are located Ensure the LED windows are over the slot opening on the mounting plate and that the TELCO wiring is at the top of the cabinet on next page Module Installation Continued Tape Mounting Method Mounting Method Steps 1 through 11 and refer to Figure 2 to mount a DACT module using self tapping screws Cut and strip the green Earth connect wire on the DACT module and to the 4004 Back Box using an 18 AWG green wire and wire nut the circuit ground connection from P1 1 of DACT The ground is provided through Wiring Harness 733 897 supplied the mounting plate onto the back box by positioning the right side of plate behind the locking tab Secure the plate with four 6 Torx screws Connect Wiring Harness 733 897 from System Board P5 to DACT P2 P5 and TB1 Power up and configure the 4004 System for the DACT module using the instructions located on the Contractor Wiring Termination 519 698 on the door Program the DACT in accordance with the installation programming that is supplied with the DACT Remove the module from its packing material Locate the DACT module onto the back box wall so the green
