Architects and Engineering Specification Advance Replacement Outdoor Speaker Strobes Speaker Strobe appliance shall be System Sensor SpectrAlert Advance model Speaker The speaker strobe shall be listed to UL 1638 and UL 1480 and be approved for fire protective systems It shall be a dual voltage transformer speaker strobe capable of operation at 25.0 or nominal Vrms The speaker shall have a frequency range of 400 to 4,000 Hz and shall have an temperature between 40 and 151 The speaker strobe must be installed with a SpectrAlert weatherproof back box shipped separately or a System Sensor weatherproof plate shipped in order to remain outdoor approved per UL The speaker strobe shall be suitable for use in environments universal mounting plate shall be used for mounting ceiling and wall speaker strobe products The appliance circuit and amplifier wiring shall terminate at the universal mounting plate Also Advance speaker strobes and the Sync Module MDL3 accessory if used shall be from a non coded notification appliance circuit output and shall operate on a nominal 12 or 24 includes fire alarm panels with built in sync When used with the Sync Module MDL3 12 volt notification appliance circuit outputs shall operate between 8.5 and 17.5 volts 24 volt rated appliance circuit outputs shall operate between 16.5 to 33 volts If the notification appliances not UL 9th edition listed with the corresponding panel or power supply being used then refer to the listing of the panel to determine maximum devices on a circuit strobes shall be plug in and shall have the ability to check wiring continuity via a shorting spring the universal mounting plate The shorting spring shall also provide tamper resistance via an open if the device is removed Speaker strobe design shall isolate speaker components to reduce ground incidents speaker strobe shall have power taps from watt to 2 watts and voltage that are selected by rotary All models shall have a maximum sound output of 90 dB at 10 feet and shall incorporate a back construction The strobe shall consist of a xenon flash tube with associated lens reflector and operate on either 12V or 24V The strobe shall also feature selectable candela output options for 15 or 15 75 candela when operating on 12V and 15 15 75 30 75 110 or 115 when on 24V The strobe shall comply with NFPA 72 the Americans with Disabilities Act requirement visible signaling appliances flashing at 1 Hz over the strobe entire operating voltage range notification appliances shall be backward compatible Speaker Strobe Speaker Strobe
