1 PAD 5 with CDC Expansion Board Description Model PAD 5 CDC Expansion Board is a PAD 5 plug in board that allows detectors to be connected to the Fire Alarm system It provides four detection zones that can be wired Class A or Class B Each zone two wire photoelectric or ionization compatible smoke detectors and an number of normally open circuit closure devices The Siemens Fire Safety and beam detectors are also supported Relay bases remote lamps and audible may also be used with the PAD 5 CDC The PAD 5 CDC uses one address on P2 loop The PAD 5 CDC address is always one more than the PAD 5 main board it is plugged into The DPU is used to program the P2 address of the PAD 5 CDC are LED indicators for each zone as well as for the P2 interface and for the of the board The PAD 5 Main Board is capable of supporting a single board PAD 5 CDC or PAD 5 CLSA of the four programmable zones can be configured for the type of detectors on the zone or can be disabled if not used Detectors requiring 100mA zone limit may not be installed on zones that are configured for the 175mA current The current is automatically set by the Zeus programming tool based on the model selected Each loop is protected against short circuits and transient as required Do not use shorting devices on circuits with accessories on them The shorting will lower the zone voltage to a point where the accessories will not Any or all of the circuits may be programmed to operate with Alarm Verification allows the automatic verification of alarm conditions caused by smoke in order to prevent nuisance alarms Shorting devices may be used on zones that are configured for Alarm Verification a shorting device on an Alarm Verified zone is activated the zone will go into alarm bypassing the Alarm Verification
