Supply Relay Output Combus Repeater Module 3.0 Installation Instructions The cabinet should be mounted in a safe and reliable manner A factor of 4 or higher must be provided the following steps to mount the unit Press the five plastic standoffs through the mounting holes at the of the cabinet Secure the cabinet to the wall in the desired location Use wall anchors when securing the cabinet to drywall concrete brick or other surfaces Press the circuit board onto the plastic standoffs to secure the to the cabinet the unit is mounted wiring may be completed Installation and Wiring The PC4204CXCF is intended to be PERMANENTLY and should be installed by service personnel only beginning to wire the unit ensure that all power AC and battery is disconnected from the control panel the following steps to complete wiring Connect the four panel originating Combus wires to the Connect the red black yellow and green Combus to the RED BLK YEL and GRN Combus In terminals Relay 1 is being used for Combus power connect the Combus according to the diagram below Note that for this option Con3 must also be set for Relay 1 modules repowered by the PC4204CXCF should have black yellow and green Combus wires connected to the BLK and GRN Combus Out terminals respectively Complete all output wiring Connect the external tamper switch if used the wiring diagrams for further information Introduction PC4204CXCF is a power supply relay output module for use PC4010CF and PC4020CF Maxsys fire security systems The provides one power output for system devices and 4 relay outputs Relay 1 can be used to repower the This module will also regenerate the Combus data signal to for longer wire runs This module is not to be used for fire alarm PC4702BP must be used PC4702BP must be used PC4702BP must be used The PC4702BP must be used PC4702BP must be used NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE The PC4204CXCF is the only power supply which can repower the on PC4010 PC4020CF systems See the control panel Installation for details PC4204CXCF is the only power supply unit for PC4010CF PC4020CF devices which has UL NFPA required supervision integrated the control panel Primary power for the PC4204CXCF must be to the same branch circuit as the PC4020CF Specifications Transformer 16.5VAC 40VA DSC Part No PTD1640U Transformer 16VAC 80VA Part No AS16N commercial fire use only the 80VA transformer Backup battery 4Ah to 38Ah sealed lead acid not provided Current draw 30 mA from Combus Connects to control panel via 4 wire Combus Selectable battery charging current 400mA or 1.2A Auxiliary power output 900mA 12VDC nominal 4 programmable relay outputs Form C contact rating 2A 30VDC Tamper connection Installing the PC4204CXCF Unpacking PC4204CXCF package should include the following parts One PC4204CXCF circuit board One PC4055CR cabinet with space for one 38Ah battery Five plastic standoffs 16VAC 80VA transformer Mounting PC4204CXCF should be located inside the PC4055CR cabinet NOTE NOTE NOTE The PC4204CXCF must be in a dry secure location NOTE NOTE within a fire enclosure as defined in EN60950 The cabinet must with the battery manufacturer installation instructions Ratings order for the system to operate properly the power output of the module cannot be exceeded For the maximum available current refer to the Battery Selection Charts based on 24h 60h power time The maximum available AUX supply current is on the size of the transformer used as well as the selected charge current Use jumper J2 to control the supply current below Supply Curr Supply Curr Supply current must be added to the total Combus current manufacturer specifications for the current draw of each device Each assembly draws up to 20mA of current Operation and Wiring Combus is used by the control panel and the modules to with each other When the PC4204CXCF is used to the Combus please refer to the wiring diagram for the exact procedures Note Please follow the diagram exactly can be home run connected in a daisy chain or T tapped on the Combus following rules MUST be followed when wiring the Combus The Combus must be run in minimum 18 gauge wire No module can be more than 1000 305m in cable length from PC4204CXCF see below Extensions 3 3 3 3 Shielded wire should only be used in areas that present excessive noise or electromagnetic interference If shielded wire is used maximum distance a module can be located from the is significantly reduced Check the capacitance rating the wire to calculate the maximum distance see below NOTE Shielded wire is not recommended The total capacitance of the Combus wiring must not exceed 80nF the control panel and PC4204CXCF module or between PC4204CXCF modules see Limits below Distance Combus Extensions length of Combus from a PC4204CXCF Combus Regenerator can extended beyond 1000 providing the following conditions are met Combus must be regenerated and repowered at both ends of the wire using PC4204CXCF and modules No other modules are to be connected along the long distance wire run A maximum distance of 4000 can be achieved between two devices To extend further additional PC4204CXCF should be used The wiring used to connect this equipment must be insulated with TFE PTFE FEP neoprene or polymide Loss current is drawn through a piece of wir
