PC4401 v1.0 Printer PC LINK Isolator DataLink Module Guide This manual contains information on limitations regarding product use function and information on the limitations as to liability of manufacturer The entire manual should be carefully read This guide must be used in conjunction with the Control Panel Installation Manual the following steps to complete wiring the four Combus wires to the PC4401 Connect the red black yellow green Combus wires to the RED BLK YEL and GRN terminals respec terminals T1 and T2 to a normally closed tamper switch If no tamper is desired connect a jumper wire between T1 and T2 terminals Consult Diagram 1 below for more information 1 Connecting the PC4401 as a Printer or DataLink Module Introduction can use the PC4401 module for one of the following functions when it is to a PC4020 v3.2 and higher system DVACS communications Printer module PC LINK isolator Interface for 3rd party applications DataLink module manual assumes that you will be using the PC4401 as a printer module isolator or DataLink module If you will be using the module for please see the PC4401 Installation Manual DVACS version Module you use the PC4401 as a printer module you can connect it to a local printer so that the system can print out event information Isolator Module you need a permanent PC LINK connection between the downloading com and the PC4020 system use the PC4401 as a PC LINK isolator module module does not need to be enrolled if you use it as a PC LINK isolator If use the PC4401 this way you must mount the module in the same cabinet the PC4020 control panel The computers can be located up to 200ft 60m the PC4401 using standard serial cable PC4020 v3.2 or higher must be used Module DataLink option allows you to connect an interface between a compatible computer application and the PC4020 system Refer to the documen with your 3rd party application for more information Specifications Input 12VDC via Combus connection Normal DTR Five possible Baud rates 300 600 1200 2400 or 4800 Maximum cable length 10 feet 3 meters Installing the PC4401 PC4401 package includes the following parts One PC4401 circuit board Four plastic stand offs RS 232 cable and DB 25 adapter 4 pin PC LINK connector Mini DIN cable not included Mounting the Cabinet mounting a new cabinet for the PC4401 select a dry location If the will be a printer module select a location close to the serial printer If PC4401 will be a DataLink module select a location close to the computer the 3rd party application mount the cabinet the back of the cabinet press the four white circuit board stand offs into the cabinet in position pull all wiring into the cabinet through the hole the provided mounting screws and appropriate wall anchors mount the the PC4401 module onto the plastic stand offs Wiring the PC4401 as a Printer or DataLink Module beginning to wire the unit ensure that all power AC transformer and is disconnected from the control panel feature Wiring the PC4401 as a PC LINK Isolator Module beginning to wire the unit ensure that all power AC transformer and is disconnected from the control panel Perform the following steps to wiring Connect the AUX and AUX Combus wires of the control panel to the RED BLK terminals on the PC4401 Consult Diagram 2 below for more information 2 Connecting the PC4401 as a PC LINK Isolator Module PC LINK header Control Panel IN computer serial port RS 232 cable max This configuration should only be with the PC4020 v3.2 or higher Applying Power all wiring is completed apply power to the control panel Connect the leads to the battery then connect the AC transformer For more infor on control panel power specifications see the control panel Installation Do not connect the power until all wiring you will be using the PC4401 as a PC LINK isolator DO NOT enroll PC4401 Enter installer programming by pressing 8 Installer Code Scroll to Hardware and press the key Scroll to Module and press the key Scroll through the different modules until RS 232 is displayed the key The message Tamper on Desired Unit will be displayed To create required tamper secure the tamper zone on the module and then open The transition from secure to violated enrolls the module After this is the keypad will display the module number and will confirm enroll e g Mod 01 Enrolled more information regarding module enrollment see the control panel Manual Programming the Module If you will be using the PC4401 as a PC LINK isolator you will not need do any programming for it access PC4020 programming press 8 then the Installer code The you will need to program are described below For more informa regarding programming see the control panel Installation Manual PC4401 module programming sections are located in the System Area under the PC44XX options Once you have entered installer pro enter the indicated reference number OR use the keys to through the programming options on the LCD display and press select the desired option following explains each programming option relevant to the PC4401 Rate 000800XX00 where XX PC4401 module no section is used to program which Baud rate the PC4401 serial interface will use to communicate with a serial printer The Baud rate is the at which information will be transmitted from the PC4401 module to serial printer There are five different Baud rates available to You may only program one function for each PC4401 module Conditions control panel always watches for possible trouble conditions If a trou condition occurs the keypad light will turn on and the key
