Installation Instructions ALCC Level Conversion Card Model ALCC from Siemens Industry Inc is an Level Conversion Card that contains two audio Each channel is capable of accepting speaker audio at 70VRMS from Siemens amplifier models MXL and ZAC 40 XLS Desigo Fire Safety PRO Modular There is a single channel of line level audio for connection to the Audio Input Card ALCC adds system wide live emergency paging to networked XLS Desigo Fire Safety PRO Modular Voice systems as well an all call function for XLS Desigo Fire Safety PRO Modular based MXL XLS Fire Safety Modular Cerberus PRO Modular systems Located on the receiving end in up to remote XLS Desigo Fire Safety Modular Cerberus Modular nodes the ALCC converts the audio generated by the amplifiers located in the and secondary paging stations into a form that compatible with AICs located in the remote stations ALCC is transparent to the host system As such it all styles of wiring supported by ZAC 40 XLS Fire Safety Modular Cerberus PRO Modular as as ZAC 30 MXL amplifiers It provides supervision constantly monitoring its two audio channels faults both visually and through the down AIC Furthermore the ALCC contains audio and channel selection circuitry that prioritizes audio enables the appropriate channel the AIC audio active contact or cuts the output the ALCC to generate an AIC trouble depending on presence of incoming audio or circuit faults Finally XLS Desigo Fire Safety Modular Cerberus PRO functions are configured in the Zeus program tool via standard logic functions with no need for software or hardware upgrades SELECTED SELECTED TEST TEST 1 Speaker Line Card 315 050263 3 isolated audio channels 70VRMS input from ZAC 30 MXL or ZAC 40 Fire Safety Modular Cerberus PRO Modular amplifiers supervision circuitry circuitry makes the ALCC completely transparent to the overlying structure ALCC provides the capability of conducting a global emergency page across remote XLS Desigo Fire Safety Modular Cerberus PRO Modular nodes up to nodes per audio riser The emergency page originates at an XLS Desigo Fire Modular Cerberus PRO Modular or MXL global paging station where it is at 70VRMS over an audio riser by a ZAC 40 XLS Desigo Fire Safety PRO Modular or ZAC 30 MXL amplifier A single remote XLS Fire Safety Modular Cerberus PRO Modular node contains one ALCC which the incoming speaker level audio down to line level audio that is compatible the AIC audio input 0.775VMRS independently adjustable to The AIC the audio which is subsequently transmitted by a DAC NET to local for broadcast over the local speaker zones The ALCC incorporates two audio channels and is therefore capable of supporting two global paging In case of a simultaneous page the ALCC control logic prioritizes the channel over the secondary channel On board audio detection circuitry the audio risers for incoming audio while supervision circuitry reports any with the audio path via front accessible LEDs and if necessary disconnects output from the AIC input causing a trouble to be reported to the system The relies on the originating amplifier for supervision of the audio risers and on the for supervision of the connection to the ALCC Since the AIC monitors the of signal on its audio input it is responsible for reporting audio path faults the XLS Desigo Fire Safety Modular Cerberus slot in the card cage the ALCC card into the card guides front bezel up until the card edge connec contact the motherboard receptacles The LEDs test buttons adjustment and the legend should be visible and accessible that the card edge connectors align properly with motherboard receptacles There is only one correct to plug in the card If it does not align DO NOT the card thumbs on the front panel adjacent to the captive and gently apply even pressure on the card the connectors plug firmly into the motherboard Secure the ALCC to the card cage with screws up the system and verify that the ALCC power turns ON all versions of Zeus earlier than 7.0 the ALCC is not option under CC 5 or CC 2 As a result such proper as card cage slot availability and battery power current draw must be accounted for manually those Zeus versions prior to 7.0 is recommended to install the ALCC in a slot adjacent the AIC 2 The ALCC all system power before installation first battery then AC To power up the AC first then the battery field wiring of the ALCC is connected to the CC 2 CC 5 terminal blocks located and below the card cage slot in which it is installed connect external wiring the screw of the terminal by turning it counterclockwise the wire into the side of the terminal block Tighten the screw of the terminal block by turning it clockwise Industry Inc Technologies Division 315 050263 3 3
