Installation Instructions LPB Page Board 500 035200 S24235 B5 A2 LPB Local Page Board is used to connect alarm microphone mounted in the LVM Live Microphone and the voice system internal system The LPB converts the two input signals into the system s internal format Additionally the LPB provides one output to connect the monitor speaker in the LVM This output signal is 1 of the voice internal audio channels selectable at the control panel microphone signal wiring between LVM and is supervised The microphone audio input of LPB is not transformer isolated each LVM output is transformer isolated The input from the telephone riser is isolated of the three audio channels can be independently via the Zeus tool Each channel can be controlled automatically via system logic dependant on its individual or manually by using the voice panel the initial power up condition each of the audio channels are shut off features are as follows to 5 LVMs can be connected to the only one can be active at a time data via CAN protocol audio connection with ASI 1 Front with LPB Edition 1 315 035200 2 audio input to connect LVM microphone between LPB and LVM is supervised for shorts and opens in inactive state input supervised for Loss of Signal in the active state analog digital converter audio data Compression via Zeus tool audio input to connect the internal telephone system input transformer isolated input supervised for Loss of Signal in the active state analog digital converter audio data Compression selectable via Zeus tool audio output to connect LVM monitor speaker analog converter audio data Decompression selectable via Zeus tool LPB contains two audio input circuits and one audio output circuit The are supervised for presence of input signal in the active state LPB provides sampling rates from 12kHz to 48kHz and resolution from to 16bit separately for each audio channel the digital audio data can be compressed de compressed for each input and output of sampling rate and resolution together with data compression is needed in applications with distributed system architecture where D external digital bus to connect voice transponders is needed voice systems with only one single transponder no D NET will have the maximum audio quality 48kHz sampling rate 16bit and no data compression LPB is a plug on board to the DAC NET LPB indicates its status by diagnostic LEDs and Indicators LPB has no front panel It uses the front panel of the DAC NET contains the following One RESET switch Eight diagnostic LEDs to indicate the operation of the card shown in Figure 1 reset switch is located on the top of the front panel Pushing the reset re initializes the LPB operation Edition 1 315 035200 2 diagnostic LEDs are placed under the reset switch Their function is as follows NORMAL ILLUMINATED IN OFF NORMAL that power for the LPB is to the card on LPB PSC DAC CC5 backplane or wiring FAIL FAIL FAIL Active Trouble yellow Active Active a general trouble at LPB on LPB that the CAN has terminated and card operates in degrade mode on LPB DAC NET backplane or other CAN that the ASI has stopped and card operates in degrade mode on LPB DAC NET backplane or other ASI that the microphone input is active audio is available to the that the LPB has detected trouble on the microphone input input 1 open or no signal that the telephone audio is active audio is available to system that the speaker audio is active plays the selected channel attachment ELECTRICAL POWER prior to working on equipment field wiring of the LPB is connected to the terminal blocks of the PSC 12 Analog Audio Bus includes three audio signals LVM microphone LVM speaker FMT Phone The LPB supervises the microphone signal to the LVM The supervision requires an EOL resistor 3K3 The EOL is with P7 at the LVM one LVM is mounted the jumper P7 must be set in position 1 2 more than one LVM is mounted the Jumper P7 of the last LVM must set in position 1 2 The Jumper P7 of the other LVMs must be set in 2 3 default factory setting Jumper P7 in position 1 2 further information refer to DAC NET Installation Instructions No A24205 A334 B839 Edition 1 315 035200 2 LPB is a Plug on board to a DAC NET LPB is delivered with the spacers mounted on the LPB four Panhead M3 x 6 and 4 washers 3.2mm to mount the LPB on the DAC NET LPB and DAC NET are assembled in such a way that the component face each other The spacers of the LPB must be fit into with the holes the DAC NET install the LPB hold it at an angle to the DAC NET with the LEDs pointing the front panel of the DAC NET 2 Installing the LPB the LPB towards the DAC NET while ensuring that the pins of LPB align with the sockets on the DAC NET DO NOT FORCE the card 3 Connectors of LPB Edition 1 315 035200 2 the LPB on the DAC NET s solder side with four screws 4 Securing the LPB of the DAC NET with LPB in CC 5 CC 2 5 Installing the DAC NET with the LPB the DAC NET card with the LPB on it into the card guides rightside up on the front panel is legible the card in until the card edge connectors contact the receptacles on motherboard Verify that the DIN connectors of the card and the card aligned properly The card can only plug in one direction to the card if it does not align DO NOT FORCE the card thumbs on the front panel adjacent to the captive screws and gently even pressure on the card until the connectors seat in the receptacles the motherboard with the captive screws up the system and verify that the LPB power LED turns ON Edition 1 315 035200 2 RATINGS Consumption LPB Back Plane Current
