and Engineering Specification Sensor L Series Strobe strobe shall be a System Sensor L Series Model listed to UL 1638 and shall be for fire protective service The strobe shall be wired as a primary signaling appliance and comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act requirements for signaling appliances flashing at 1 Hz over the strobe entire operating voltage range strobe shall have field selectable candela settings including 15 30 75 95 110 135 185 wall mounted units and 15 30 75 95 115 150 177 for ceiling mounted units The strobe shall consist of a xenon flash tube and associated lens reflector system Indoor L Series shall operate between 32 and 120 degrees Fahrenheit from a regulated DC or full rectified unfiltered power supply strobe shall mount to a standard 4 4 1 inch back box 4 inch octagon back box gang back box and single gang 2 4 17 back box A universal mounting plate be used for mounting ceiling and standard wall products A separate mounting plate shall used for mounting compact wall products The notification appliance circuit wiring shall at the mounting plate L Series strobe and the Sync Module MDL3 accessory if used shall be powered a non coded notification appliance circuit output and shall operate on a nominal 12 or 24 When used with the Sync Module MDL3 12 volt rated notification appliance outputs shall operate between 8.5 and 17.5 volts 24 volt rated notification appliance outputs shall operate between 16.5 and 33 volts If the notification appliances are not 9th edition listed with the corresponding panel or power supply being used then refer to compatibility listing of the panel to determine maximum devices on a circuit strobe shall be plug in and shall have the ability to check wiring continuity via a shorting on the universal mounting plate The shorting spring shall also provide tamper via an open circuit if the device is removed All notification appliances shall be compatible
